Yet Another Baseball Game -- Angels vs. Oakland A's

This summer seems to be full of baseball games! My third (and final) one occurred about two weeks ago on July 25 (hmm, my blog seems to be on a 2-week delay...). Apparently, our main vendor, Urban Science, takes my department to a baseball game every year and pays for everything! So this year we saw the Angels play the Oakland A's. I carpooled over with the undergrad intern and just as we were pulling up to the gate to pay for parking, a man who was walking along the side with a group of people asked me through my open window if I wanted his parking pass because he was not using it. Of course I said yes, and we got to park in the VIP parking area right next to the stadium entrance for free! It was great. The game itself was fun, but extremely HOT!! We were out in the beating sun, and it was a hot day by anyone's standards. I went through at least a few bottles of water and the BBQ sandwich I got didn't really help things, but it sure tasted good! The Angels won in a good finish (homerun with bases loaded kind of thing), and we got to skip out on work for the day, so all in all, it was a good day.

However, I must say that I was a bit disturbed hearing the recent news story that they found a rodent infestation in the concession stands at Angel Stadium. Ew! I can't help but see the irony in a formerly Disney-owned stadium and their newest movie, Ratatouille.

P.S. Sorry for my lack of photos in this post. :-)

Did your BBQ have a hint of rodent in it?

The weather has been unbearably hot all over! The weather map this morning was ridiculous, with 3-digit temps all the way up to New England! The humidity in DC just makes it all worse of course.

Yeah, I am waiting for a situation like the movie "The Day After Tomorrow". This extreme weather is kind of scary! I'll be dealing with that heat in a few days!
