Celebrity Sighting

For some reason, both celebrity sightings I have had this summer were while I was sitting in a taxi, circling LAX. :-) When I arrived in LA, I was in the shared ride van, slowly circling the airport to pick up more people when I saw some guy I recognized from The Real World or Road Rules or that Real World/Road Rules Challenge they do on MTV. It was neat to see a pseudo-celeb, but last night's sighting was much cooler.

So I got back from Denver late last night and was riding along in my taxi past the other departure areas on our way out of the airport. We were going slowly because of traffic, so I was just looking at the people out of my window. And then I saw, standing alone underneath the sign for Shared Ride Vans, Janeane Garafolo! Stand-up comic and star of Reality Bites, The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Ratatouille, and much more. She had long black hair, thick black glasses on, several tattoos on her arms, a short-sleeved black t-shirt, and army green capri cargo-ish pants. She bent one leg back to stretch it and then looked up at me staring at her, so I looked away, but of course quickly looked back as my taxi pulled away. It was exciting, and a bit surprising that she was just standing there waiting for a shared ride van like a totally normal person. Very cool.
